Hey all, we’re thrilled to be opening for our friends Miracles of Modern Science at their CD release show at Pianos tonight on the Lower East Side. Show starts at 8, us at 9, MOMS at 10. See you there!
Tomorrow at Cameo Gallery the 7 piece chamber ensemble hits with a boston heavy show full of boston heavies. It’s us, Carter Tanton, Ryan Lee Crosby, and Boy King Island, the new project from my dear friend Jesse Rifkin, who aren’t from Boston at all but get a pass as they recorded at The Soul Shop.
Music starts at 8, we’re on at 9! come outtt
look at this tiny flyer for this HUGE show. This thursday in Cambridge, MA, at TT the bears w/Friendly People, Old Abram Brown, You Won’t. Listen to them, they are great!
Boston! Don’t forget! BWG plays a free show sunday, 4-5 PM, in the Shapiro Courtyard at the Museum of Fine Arts. We will have the (nearly full) seven piece band there to serenade you under the lush greenery.
Hello friends. BWG has been laboring away in his bedroom again, making new songs. Here’s a demo of one of them that you can stream here & on soundcloud for a little while. Feel free to pass it along.
hey, thanks for the post!
Just got wind of a local (Boston!) artist, Boy Without God, with a smooth-acoustic-fusion-plus-a-helluva-baritone-voice thing going on, and Anti-Gravity Bunny did a write up:
Poetic lyrics sung in the most passionate deep baritone that sounds maybe a little like the dude from Crash Test Dummies, except not annoying and totally sincere. I’d say his voice is what hooks you in the beginning but it’s probably just the most noticeably unique aspect. Songs break in cathartic crescendos with angry guitar destruction & dissonant horn skronking or blissful howling & lush dreams.
The few tracks we’ve heard sound lovely — they’re well-crafted, thoughtfully put together and executed, and the result is a mellow and heartfelt sound that really resonates.
